Music Theory For Dummies

Music Theory For Dummies
Publisher: For Dummies | Date: 2007-04-02 | Pages: 360 | ISBN 0764578383 | PDF | 5 MB

Many people grimace at the sound of music theory. It can conjure up bad memories of grade school music classes, rattle the brains of college students, and make self-taught musicians feel self-defeated. Music Theory may seem tedious and unnecessary, especially since not many people can read music.

Luckily, Music Theory for Dummies shows you the fun and easy way to understanding the concepts needed to compose, deconstruct, and comprehend music. This helpful guide will give you a great grasp of:

* Note value and counting notes
* Treble and bass clefs
* Time signatures and measures
* Naturalizing the rhythm
* Tempo and dynamic
* Tone, color, and harmonics
* Half steps and whole steps
* Harmonic and melodic intervals
* Key signatures and circles of fifths
* Scales, chords, and their progressions
* Elements of form
* Music theory’s fascinating history

This friendly guide not only explores these concepts, it provides examples of music to compliment them so you can hear how they sound firsthand. With a bonus CD that demonstrates these ideas with musical excerpts on guitar and piano, this hands-on resource will prove to you that music theory is as enjoyable as it is useful. Don’t get discouraged by the seemingly complicated written structure. With Music Theory for Dummies, understanding music has never been easier!

Note: CD-ROM/DVD and other supplementary materials are not included as part of eBook file.

Méthode de Saxophone Débutants (Saxophone solo)

Claude & Christophe Delangle C.& Bois C.: Méthode de Saxophone Débutants (Saxophone solo)
Editions Henry Lemoine | ISMN M-2309-6509-5 | Edition 2004 | PDF | 98 Pages | Raw scan | 11 MB

Nigel Kennedy,Klaus Tennstedt - Beethoven / Bach

Nigel Kennedy,Klaus Tennstedt - Beethoven / Bach
Emi Classics | 1992 | All Covers | MP3 320 kbps | 97.6 + 7.32 (Rar)

Nigel Kennedy (born December 28, 1956 in Brighton, England)is a violinist and violist. He was a pupil at the Yehudi Menuhin School, under Menuhin himself, and later at the Juilliard School under Dorothy DeLay. Kennedy has done much to popularise classical music, particularly among young people. He has also performed and recorded most of the major violin concerti. Kennedy expresses concern for the immediate appeal of live performance, and often records entire works or movements in single 'takes' to preserve this sense in his recordings. He also introduces improvisatory elements in his performances, as in his Jimi Hendrix-inspired cadenza to the eethoven violin concerto and his jazz and fusion recordings. Away from his musical career, Kennedy is a supporter of football clubs Aston Villa and Cracovia. Recently he has appeared on Cracovia's 100th anniversary in club replica kit.

Nigel Kennedy - Kafka

Nigel Kennedy - Kafka
1996 | MP3 192 kbps | All Covers | 94.6 MB
Genre: Classical-Pop

This major genre hop by British classical violinist Nigel Kennedy appears to have trouble finding its audience. It seems that most of Kennedy's concert hall fans are not amused by his walk on the wild side, while most lovers of progressive fusion - which is what this marvelous album is - probably don't even know the record exists.
The compositions may not be Stravinsky or Elgar; but then even the best progressive music rarely is. What really makes this album an "event" is the innovative, jaw-dropping musicianship. Kennedy transforms his concert violin into an "axe"; he does for it what his hero Jimi Hendrix did for the electric guitar. He combines the virtuosity that has made him famous in the concert hall with a superlative command of electronic timbral shapeshifting and applies it to a highly varied set of compositions that mix rock with jazz with classical with East with West with . . . Importantly, Kennedy cooks. He rocks. He bites. He explodes. He cuts loose without a score as well as any rock or jazz musician, but with his own uniquely brilliant voice.

A truly wonderful performance of Bach's cello suites from an old master. It doesn't matter if the music wouldn't have been performed like this in Bach's time, vibrato and all that, what matters is that Rostropovich made the music his own.

National Geographic Inside the Living Body

National Geographic Inside the Living Body
English | 95:00 | 720x480 | PAL (25fps) | DivX | MP3 - 128kbps | 1.0 GB
Genere: Documentry

Embark on an incredible journey as National Geographic traces one "everywoman's" story, using milestones to examine the everyday workings of a living, functioning body in ways not seen before. From the producers of the acclaimed Inside the Womb, Inside the Living Body reveals the life story of the human body from first cry to final breath. With microscopic filmmaking, advanced medical technology, and state-of-the-art cardiac tomography (CT) imaging techniques, Inside the Living Body presents a new and uniquely revealing perspective on how our bodies function, grow, and mature from infancy through puberty, adulthood, and old age. It's the journey of a human lifetime...from the outside in.

National Geographic provides a whole new perspective on the extraordinary processes involved in human life with this primarily internal look at the human life cycle from conception through old age. Thanks to amazing technological advances like camera pills and high-definition endoscopes, physicians and scientists can now obtain actual camera footage and images of body processes as well as create elaborate computer simulations to aid in the research and understanding of how the human body works. This 95-minute exploration of the human body and its processes follows human life from fetal development through the amazing changes demanded of virtually every organ in the hours after birth, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and old age. It explores the senses and how they work, brain development, digestion, blood circulation, cell division, the hardening and replenishing of bone, puberty, sexuality, childbirth, changes inherent in the aging process, the virtual shutting down of the body at death, and much more.

In the Arctic, the icepack shrinks every year. To study environmental changes in the Canadian Arctic, researchers have a new floating laboratory - a converted ice breaker. Certain animal and plant species are currently under threat; others are invading or thriving as they never did before. But climate change has also produced opportunities, such as the Arctic’s vast oil and gas reserves, and a possible North-West passage trade route. So what does the warming up of the Arctic mean for the region and the world ?

Description:

In The Language Instinct, Steven Pinker, well-known for his revolutionary theory of how children acquire language, lucidly explains everything you always wanted to know about language: how it works, how children learn it, how it changes, how the brain computes it, how it evolved. With wit, education, and deft use of everyday examples of humor and wordplay, Pinker weaves our vast knowledge of language into a compelling story: language is a human instinct, wired into our brains by evolution like web spinning in spiders or sonar in bats.

A complete portrait of this remarkable period is depicted in this book through a chronology, an introductory essay, a bibliography, and over 500 hundred cross-referenced dictionary entries on major Renaissance painters, sculptors, architects, and patrons, as well as relevant historical figures and events, the foremost artistic centers, schools and periods, major themes and subjects, noteworthy commissions, technical processes, theoretical material, literary and philosophic sources for art, and art historical terminology.
